It has been quite some time since I've made an appearance here on the front page, but you can now rest easy knowing that I am, in fact, not dead. Some of you may remember a long while back when I threw together a mish-mash of notes, called them songs, and hoped for the best, not even having so much as real instruments to work with and churning these out in a matter of hours each. Those days, I am glad to say, are long passed. I have not only acquired non-synthetic instruments to work with, but I have also acquired the patience and good taste to make my projects meet a much higher standard.
I would suppose the best example of this would be this release itself. What started out as a plan to release seven songs was soon dropped to three when I scrapped some failed attempts to recreate songs from the Zelda series. This count has been further reduced to one lonely track, as the other two have yet to undergo the meticulous process of finalization. Thus, I present to you my first release,
Outset Island. It is my hope that you enjoy it as much as I do.
But perhaps an entire rendition of a Zelda track isn't quite your cup of tea. Perhaps you prefer coffee or one of those overpriced milkshakes called a "latte" from Starbucks or what-have-you. But I digress. I will also be releasing a transcription of
Windfall Island for a saxophone soloist with a piano accompaniment, along with the
score in pdf format. These transcriptions and remixes will become a fairly regular thing here at EDN, although I must warn in advance that I will not force myself to any release deadline because, for several reasons, this would only lead to a degradation of quality.
But enough of that. It is with great pride that I am finally able to announce the opening of Exploding Deku Nut's own music page,
The Storm of Songs! A permanent link to the page can be found to the left under Media. Enjoy!
