The Timeline Theory - Now Online!
- May 04 2008 -

The timeline developed by Zeldaeinstein and myself is now online. It can be found at the Deku University. If you have any comments, concerns, or just have something to point out that will help us reshape the timeline, contact us, we'd like to debate your points. And, for those wondering, I am Dark Link229, I simply changed my alias.

Also, you'll notice three PHP errors above every article on the site. Be assured, these will be taken care of soon, and will not prevent you from viewing the articles concerning the timeline.

*Edit* My avatar seems to be missing. How strange.

*Double edit* LoZ was getting out of hand and wanted to be in the Phantom Hourglass section. This has now been fixed.

*Super Doubly Powerful Edit* Avatar Fixed -DC-

*The edit which broke the edit record for any amount of edits on an EDN news post* That avatar suuuure looks fancy Darth.

ZeldaBlog Lives Once More!
- April 30 2008 -

So, I've been hinting at some big news to my staff members for awhile, teasing with messages like: "Big News in May" or "May 1st will be awesome" Stuff like that.

Well it's May 1st, and here's the big news: ZeldaBlog is back in action.

And I'm it's Administrator.

You can read the opening post here for most of the details. Mainly I'll be doing alot of the things TML used to do with ZeldaBlog, in addition to writing my A.S.S.A's. Exploding Deku Nut will continue on it's goal to victory in 2008, will lots of updates and such, so no worries there. :P

But enough about that. Check out ZeldaBlog right now! We have alot of new contributors in addition to some old faces who will be posting articles this upcoming week. So be sure to check the blog everyday!

Me? I'm going to finally get some sleep. tongue

#15 - Origin Stories
- April 14 2008 -

So hey, no big update since April Fools is inexcusible. So to make up for the lack of updates, we have another amazing issue of Accidentally Linked: #15 - Origin Stories! So check it out.

I have also finally added the 2008 April Fools Day joke to the archive. It joins the ever growing list of pranks, standing as eternal testament to my joyful willingness to dupe everyone once a year. Be sure to check that out as well.

We also have a few new affiliates: Beyond the Lost Woods and Link's Hideaway. So yeah, you can check them out too.

As a bit of community news, our friends over at Want Midna Back is hosting a raffle for a "unique piece of Midna memorabilia, a 2.5" resin Midna figurine". The cost for each raffle number is is $10 CAD each. So if you are interested, check it out, after you are done checking out the last three things I told you to check out.

And finally, I have made some changes to the Cutenews comments system, due to the unsightly amount of spambots. To combat this terrible threat, I have deployed the all-powerful NAVI FILTERING automated defense system. To use, simply enter the word "Navi" into the antispam field when posting a comment. Failure to do so will mean no one will ever get to see your comment, ever! NAVI FILTERING. It's tomorrow's technology, today!

Now that you're done reading this post, you should check it out. wink

The Amazing April Fools Day 2008 Write Up
- April 03 2008 -

So hey guys. A bit late, but I've been swamped with work lately.

Anyway, incase you were a bit confused when you visited the "Desert Colossus" on tuesday, it was an April Fools day joke played by EDN with LoZ.com and TDC.

To give a little background on the joke; I had an idea about two years back for several sites to impersonate another site on April Fools. Obviously the prank works better the more sites that join. Originally there were 10 sites I emailed for this prank. Only 3 responded, and 1 had to drop out later. However I think the prank went very well for the 3 of us that did it.

The joke consisted of three parts. The first and most obvious part was the site swap. Each site would impersonate another site, by changing the code, banner or entire layout. For this joke, Exploding Deku Nut impersonated The Desert Colossus who impersonated LegendofZelda.com who impersonated Exploding Deku Nut.

Second, webmasters would pretend as if they had ALWAYS run the site. Hence you may have seen us post on the forums pretending we owned the hoax site, leading to mass confusion for some.

Third, each of us would make a front page post containing the following phrases:

"Perhaps next time he'll bring a fairy……in a bottle! Hahahaha!"
"There are no cheap victories for your gold medals."
"Leever?! I hardly even know her!"
"If I had a nickel for every time that was said, I'd have half a nickel!"

What the post was about was entirely up to the writer.

And that was it. The layouts were up for the whole day before we revealed it was all a huge lie created by your favorite webmasters.

Anyway, the joke site along with screenshots of the other two sites will be up in the April Fool's Day section this weekend. Thanks to everyone who played along, and for those who are wondering, yes I do have next years prank planned out already. tongue

PS. BTW, apologies to Shou Amabane from The Desert Colossus forums. Sorry man, we tried to drop as many hints as we could. We can tell you now, that the three of us were not hacked in any shape or form. But that it was a terrible April Fools Day trick played by the webmasters themselves. tongue
